  • A native shrub with upright habit. White flowers in late spring and early summer are followed by red berries. Also of ornamental merit is the red autumn leaf colouring.
  • Berries fed on by Blackbird, Fieldfare, Mistle Thrush, Redwing and Waxwing, as well as mice and voles.
  • Hoverflies and other adult flies may visit flowers.
